of LL’s last day of stay in Manila


time really flies here. in a wink of an eye, LL returned to Singapore almost 3 days. i had the most wonderful weekend with him around celebrating my birthday and sadly, i wasn’t bk in Singapore to celebrate his =( but i hope to return on 17th to do a post celebration with him =) and to visit my family.

with LL around, i m always well taken care of. he will ensure that i m well fed lol…anyway on the last day which is also a public holiday, we went for a gd lunch and dinner. i prepared breakfast for the two of us and we went bk to work ( at home – sounds boring but we got too much work to finish)…

our breakfast – pancakes…i wanted to do pancakes ( normal ones) but realized i forgot to buy milk so i replace milk with Milo and it turns out taste even better! smart right? lol

our lunch at Sumosam – was not the first time for me but first for LL

our dinner at banana leaf before he left. rice is served on the banana leaf..lol..but the food is so so only

lastly a picture of two of us…my eyes all swollen from the crying..cos i just feel so upset when he goes bk to Singapore..just like when i was in Macau =(

can’t wait to go bk Singapore n meet him…although we FaceTime almost everyday but the feeling is so different when we see each other physically i guess.

not sure if you remember the ABC Chef Yan who does the cooking shows in TV. Anyway, this is his famous line “If YAN can cook, so can you!”

I am very fortunate to have LL as the Chef of the Day ( meaning breakfast and lunch prepared by him)..dinner will be prepared by me. lol. So we bought sausages and bacon for breakfast and this is prepared by Chef LL. he look very serious when he is doing the cooking..cos he said that this is a very serious job. lol.

end product..i must tell u..the bacon is really good!!!

well, after breakfast, he started to prepare for lunch ..muahaha..cos according to him, the mian fen guo is very difficult to prepare. it consist of alot of steps to make the thing taste good!

for the soup base, you will need ikan billis, da tou cai ( some kind of preserved vege), chinese spinach ( you can use other green leaf vege if u wan), garlic. Can you imagine LL brought all the ingredients from Singapore ( except for the chinese spinach)?
step 1. you need to stir fry the garlic until golden brown. followed by the ikan billis
step 2 you need to stir fry the below together

put the above together with the garlic to a pot of water and bring it to boil…

for the noodle, you need to add sufficient water to ensure that the mian fen forms a dough…

next you shape it into like long fat shape like this and put inside a pot of cold water
when the soup is boiling, u just take one of them out and slightly press from the middle of the dough to make it shape like noodles..
put the noodle into the soup and add in the vege and let it to boil for a while. then it is done
final product!
i must say it taste really good!

ok..next is my dinner ….

potato with minced meat
1. u need to stir fry the potato to soften it and leave it to cool while u fry the garlic
2. stir fry the garlic until golden brown
3. add in the minced meat
4. add in the potato
5. add in some fish sauce
6. cook until the potato is fully cooked.

pan fried egg with beans
1. cut the long beans ( i used the shorter version which i dont know what is it called in english..grrhhh..but i call them wu gui tou)…into small dice
2. stir fried them with onions then put it into a bowl
3.  add 4 eggs and mix them evenly
4. add in soya sauce..i use 3 tablespoon ( slightly lesser) for 4 eggs.
5. heat the frying pan and then add in the #4
6. served when cook

tomato soup
1. stir fry the ikan billis
2. add in the tomatos, onions, carrots (chopped)
3. add in water and bring to boil
4. add in soya sauce for taste

of this weekend is great!


my first wkend in the apartment and it is great! cos LL came over the weekend to spend time with me. This wk is our birthday month and mine is just few days away. i am so happy and now i m very sad cos he is flying bk tonight and i won’t be seeing him until 2 wks later when i fly bk to Singapore =(

So yes, Fri dinner is cooked for the 2 of us. soup plus chicken rice. Sat, i prepared breakfast for LL and we had breakfast before getting our arse to work. yes..it is very boring activity…working in SG for him and here in Manila too but he got too much work to do le. same like me..

we work until noon before heading down to power plant for lunch..we had Vietnamese food this time. it is gd!
we did a little groceries shopping before heading bk for work and some house chores to do. after that we catch the Avengers in the cinema at Powerplant..the show is great! full of action..we love it and we end the day at healthy shabu shabu…dinner is fantastic! and very value for money..is about 30 bucks for 2 pax!
it comes with free desert, halo halo..something like ice kachang in Singapore…
time really flies..and that’s the day of day 1…stay tune for Chef LL in the kitchen post!
