of time really flies

i do hope it also flies as fast as now while i m in Manila too cos i guess i will miss my family, love ones and everything in Singapore deeply.

here i m, typing this blog before i get ready to the airport. having mixture of feelings
- Go : many ppl tell me i m very lucky to get a opportunity to go overseas to work within a short period of time since i join bk the company. Yes, i do agree somehow.
- No Go : i don’t wan to be away from my family for a long period of time. there are so many things that i m worrying about – Ronnie, my parents, my love one and my grandma.

anyway, i spend the last 2 days in Singapore with my family and LaffLaff. i will first blog on the sat’s dinner at T-one steamboat at Upper Thomson.

The soup base is quite good. u can choose to had the twin soup base or 1 single one. u can choose between – ma la / fish head / herbal chicken . we took the male and fish head soup base and it is really good.

it is a ala-carte buffet style so you choose and pick the food n then they will deliver it to you. there are also some side dishes to go along with it too. their deep fried chicken is really gd! overall the price is quite reasonable – 30++ for 1 pax. they open until 2am in the morning too!

having severe breakouts at the chin area again. sian..

for sunday dinner, i spend my “last” dinner with my family. giving my mum n dad + bro and his gf to Chi Zar at great world city. we took the set dinner for 4 pax and top up for 1 additional. the dinner is 88 bucks for 4 and additional 22 for 1 pax. the food is much better than the last time i visited them with Lafflaff lo

i like this juice lot. but mummy finds it very sour…strange..but i think it taste a little like red wine to me lol

the set dinner comes with…

fish maw soup

fish – can’t rem the exact name but there are 2 types of fish in it

pork chop – this is really good!

claypot tou fu – their tou fu is handmade and is very gd too

3 eggs chinese spinach – i love this too

fried rice

ending the dinner with desert! aloe vera

i guess this pretty sums up the 2 sinful dinner i have over the 2 days. and i will be flying to Manila in a few hours time…guess the next upcoming posts will be my life in Manila…

i love to eat and i love my PEN…

of Ronnie’s updates

well, this post is about Ronnie. My poor Ronnie. just had a operation last week. The lump on his paw suddenly grow very fast and it bursted. he was bleeding non stop and had to ave a emergency operation to remove the toe and now he is left with 3 on his paw. i made the decision to save his life, not knowing if the lump is posing a danger to his life or not but i just remove it to have a safe piece of mind.

my brave ronnie, now recovering from the operation and i am glad that everything turns out well and he is on the route to recovery. at least if i go overseas, i know that he is fine.

no matter 4 toe or 3 toe, he is always my brave Ronnie boy and i love him

i love Ronnie and i love my PEN

of a simple dinner marks the end of valentines day

this year, boring….nothing special. went for my pilates class as i am suppose to have 1 make up lesson left  ( was traveling so i missed 1 lesson)

as usual, busy with work, busy with my own activities. did not plan for any dates or have any dates ( so sad right). so after my lessons, went down to amoy for a simple dinner.

hey, you don’t need to have big fish big meat ( expensive) dinner ok? a simp 2 dish + 1 soup is good enough right? is the company that counts.

sambal kangkong
prawn paste fried chicken
i don’t know if valentines day special or not but uncle is super generous with the fish soup that day
usual place – Quan Ji at amoy market. our favorite place for dinner and our fav dishes ( other than geylang hokkien met + frog leg porridge). Simple dinner to mark the end of the day.
Valentines day is another normal day to me lol. sound boring..yes..haha

of let’s learn more about our PEN – Part 3

well, today we shall learn on how to take landscape pictures using PEN. landscape, not my favorite actually. it is always difficult to capture the kind of feel that you want to give to. so it is just not about anyhow shoot. actually i feel, human or animal objects are the easier ones. haha.

anyway. taking landscape is not about zooming. as you can see, if you are holding on to a kit lens of 14mm-42mm, you need to try to fit everything to a 14mm. if you zoom, you probably will lose out the details of the landscape. so normally what i do is, for landscape, it is always better to zoom out, use a wide angle lens ( it applies for DSLR too).

you can use the customized  screen in PEN which makes your life much much easier and simpler. with the intelligence that is built in, you can also take humans or animals in landscape and it will turn out swee swee (pretty).

a little tip for you. if you wishes to take night scenery, try not to use a external or built in flash unless you are super expert in them.for external flash, unless you know the technique of bouncing light , if you face the flash at the object, the object will turn out very white or you can say the light is very harsh. same thing applies to the built in flash cos you cannot adjust the angle of the flash you want. so my suggestion is try to play around with the shutter speed to allow longer time exposure and you can do this in the manual mode. =). for long exposure, try to put the camera on a tripod to avoid hand shake. hand shake will cause the image to turn blur.

here are some of the landscape pictures i took. not very fantastic but it gives you a rough idea of what i am talking about.

night pictures without flash

well, you can see most of them are taken in bali cos i am too lazy to dig out the macau and zhu hai ones. if you are interested in some of the travel pictures i took using PEN, you can go to my travel log pages. i bought PEN in Feb i think so since then i always carries it with me when i travel as it is light and good.

so till next time, i probably share with you some other features like art filters, other features of PEN

I love to shoot and i love my PEN

of let’s learn more about our PEN – Part 2

ok, today i shall share with you all on taking pictures of food. as many ppl know, i love to eat. haha. which also explains my size too. i love food so much that i love taking pictures of them and they will remind me of how it taste, how appetizing it looks and sometimes for the better ones, i will note down the address so that i will go back again or share it with my friends.

taking food picture is quite tricky. cos picture says a thousand words and it will probably tell people if the food taste food or not.

Taking food pictures also dependent on a couple of factors
1. Food itself
2. Presentation of the dish

of cos sometimes, u need to do something to the dish itself to make it look more tasty. for example : taking a picture of fried oyster egg (or jian). it will be quite boring if u just take the picture like that and is a very traditional .u can try to take 1 piece of it using the chopstick and take a close up picture of it.

taking food pictures using a PEN + kit lens.

seriously, i have not invested in a macro lens just to take food pictures before. nt even on my dslr. the pictures taken using my dslr are using my tamron 17-50mm. and most of the pictures i taken, erhmm..turns out well ( got some cannot make it one..but most are ok).

for PEN, it is a very smart camera. u can choose to use the “A” setting to achieve the object (food) sharp, background blur effect or u can choose one of the custom call macro.

to achieve the above mention effect, you need to set the aperture to be the biggest. for example : f2.8 (if that is the max) and the picture will turn out great! of cos, under low light conditions, big aperture will help too.

now, u need to also decide on the depth of field. what you want to show, what you want ppl to know about the food too. so the distance to zoom also plays apart.

for my case, i would like to capture as much detail as possible.

below are some of the pictures i taken recently

hope my tips is helpful..coming next will be landscape…
